Fans often suggest that SA Flash and SA Green Lantern should share a spot on the annual archives schedule. Sounds good to me. Here are some other titles I think should share a designated slot:

JLA / SA Teen Titans - The teens are overdue, and have at least four volumes of collectible material.

Doom Patrol / Metamorpho - Freaky 60s heroes. After Metamorpho volume 2, the Metal Men should take over his slot.

GA Green Lantern / GA Hawkman - The Hawkman material is highly collectible. Time to get it on the schedule. The Lantern seems to have more sales potential than the GA Flash.

GA Sandman / GA Starman / GA Flash - I threw in Starman just to wrap up his run. The other two characters need to be archived, already.

JSA All-Star / Marvel Family - The JSA has four volumes left counting volume zero. The Marvel Family could go on for quite a bit longer. While I would like to see Seven Soldiers volume 1, I think its sales will be too low to justify continuing the line on a biannual basis.

Other suggestions?

There appears to be several bi-annual release patterns establishing for individual titles like Worlds Finest, Shazam, Wonder Woman and we would like to hope, Doom Patrol and Supergirl. Maybe Wonder Woman/Supergirl is already slotted to be a bi-annual rotation if Supergirl #2 comes out this year.

I think a SA Hawkman/GA Hawkman would be an excellent annual rotation -- and more balanced in interest than say a similar Flash or Green Lantern rotation where the greater interest is probably skewed to the Silver Age.

I think the war titles can be continued this way, as well. I would love to see a war title every six months, but a 9-month or 12-month rotation is probably more realistic.

I think an Aquaman/Green Arrow rotation would work nicely, as well.

I like your idea of a Doom Patrol/Metamorpho/Metal Men rotation.

Here are some rotations I'd like to see. Actually, a set yearly schedual with an increase to 16 volumes (1 each month with an extra quarterly):

1)GA Green Lantern/GA Flash

2)SA Green Lantern/SA Flash *And fix it so we get GA Flash and SA Green Lantern 1 year, GA Green Lantern and SA Flash the next.

3)Superman/Action/GA Superboy

4)SA Superman/Supergirl *Eventually throw SA Superboy in and have the schedual go: Superman, Supergirl, Superman, Superboy, Superman, Supergirl, etc.

5)Lois Lane/Jimmy Olsen

6)Batman/Dark Knight

7)Dynamic Duo/Robin/Batgirl *With Robin and Batgirl acting like Supergirl and Superboy.

8)World's Finest/Superman in WFC/Batman in WFC

9)All-Star, replaced by SSoV, replaced by Marvel Family *All annual releases.

10)Misc. JSA *GA Hawkman, Sandman, Hourman, etc.

11)Doom Patrol/Teen Titans/Challengers of the Unknown

12)JLA/Legion

13)Shazam/Jr./Mary *With Jr. and Mary acting like Superboy, Supergirl, Robin, and Batgirl

14)Plastic Man *When sales taper off, alternate him with misc. Quality features.

15)Misc. JLA *Green Arrow, Aquaman (both Gold and Silver), Atom, etc.

16)Misc. Golden Age/Misc. Silver Age *Slot for Johnny Quick, Metamorpho, Boy Commandos, Adam Strange, etc.

There you have it 16 volumes, some years it'd be 1 volume Gold heavy by my count, others even.

Here's what I'd like to see--some are three-way or four-way rotations or more complex variations:

Superman/Superman in Action/Superman in World's Finest

Batman/Dark Knight/Batman in World's Finest

GA Flash/GA Green Lantern

GA Hawkman/GA Starman 2/GA Sandman/GA Dr.Fate/GA Spectre 2, alternating and spaced so that Hawkman gets more frequent volumes and he and Sandman end at about the same time. After all these strips finish, plug in less prominent JSA-ers: Hourman and Wildcat first, then Dr. Mid-Nite, etc.

Wonder Woman alternating with a selection of non-JSA solo heroes: Green Arrow, Vigilante, Robotman, Liberty Belle, Johnny Quick, etc. Any of them that do particularly well can have provision made for them elsewhere.

Comic Cavalcade/Seven Soldiers of Victory, with the slot kicked off by the done-in-one All-Star-Big All-American compilation. This material would only last a dozen years or so, and can be replaced by stuff that's doing better than expected (if any) in some of the other crowded slots.

GA Superboy/GA Robin/Newsboy Legion/Boy Commandos, and maybe the Star Spangled Kid. The kid slot.

I'd fast-track Shazam!, with an annual volume of its own when the production level gets to about 20 per year.

Captain Marvel Jr./Mary Marvel/Marvel Family, with Junior going more often than the others since there's more material to do.

Plastic Man/Blackhawk, since I think Plas is due to slow down a bit, and Blackhawk has a huge body of work that might do better if more of it were exposed.

A slot for other Quality and Fawcett features, if and when art restoration becomes feasible. Obvious candidates include The Ray, Doll Man, Black Condor, Uncle Sam, Bulletman, Spy Smasher, Ibis, Kid Eternity, and a dozen others.

That's eleven regular slots for 1940s material exclusive of the stuff that I lump in with Silver Age books, chiefly the early DC Westerns.

And here's what I'd like to see in Silver Age (and afterward). This includes some genre material that actually starts in the late '40s and very early '50s.

SA Superman/SA Superboy

Batman: Dynamic Duo/Batman in Brave & Bold

Flash/Green Lantern

Atom/Hawkman/SA Spectre (and when one of them runs out, Elongated Man)

Supergirl/Jimmy Olsen/Lois Lane

JLA/Legion

Aquaman/Teen Titans (old, then New)

World's Finest/SA Wonder Woman (only 2-3 volumes)/Martian Manhunter

Doom Patrol/Challengers, and when DP runs out, plug in Metal Men or Sea Devils or Rip Hunter or The War That Time Forgot.

Adam Strange/pre-AS Mystery In Space. When Adam runs out, plug in Tommy Tomorrow. When MIS runs out, either plug in Space Ranger or start another sf anthology: Tales of the Unexpected or My Greatest Adventure.

early Strange Adventures (#1 up: Strange Adventures, the Atomic Age Archives)/later Strange Adventures (#101 up: Strange Adventures, the Space Age Archives). Include all the short series: Captain Comet, Star Hawkins, Space Museum, Atomic Knights.

All-American Western/All-Star Western/Western Comics

House of Mystery/House of Secrets (Orlando period)/Phantom Stranger/Weird War Tales

Sgt.Rock/Enemy Ace 2/Unknown Soldier/Haunted Tank (just for you, Carlo)

Brave & Bold (first 24 issues)/Danger Trail/Rex the Wonder Dog/various short runs: Metamorpho, Captain Atom (Ditko), Blue Beetle-Question (Ditko), Eclipso, etc.

Jonah Hex/Warlord

That's 15. Add it to the 11 Golden Age slots listed in my post above, and it's 26 per year, or an archive every two weeks--ridiculous now, but maybe achievable over a decade or so of expansion.

You know what, This is a schedual I could live with! Looks fair and gives a sense of regularity that the current randomness lacks. The only thing is that eventually is would be nice to work up to 24 a year, but I think this schedual can easily be modified to accomidate that.

The only thing I would change is to create a new quartly slot. In this slot I would alternate Batman and Superman volumes. This way you would get 2 new Bats and Supes voluems each year and 1 new volume for each of their lines every 2 years. Here is how it would work:

Year 1;
Superman
Batman
Superman in Worlds Finest
Batman in Worlds Finest

Year 2
Action
Dark Knight
Man of Steel (SA)
Dynamic Duo

Year 3
Superman
Batman
Superman in Worlds Finest
Batman in Worlds Finest

Year 4
Action
Dark Knight
Man of Steel (SA)
Dynamic Duo

etc., etc., ...

And when you run out of bats and Sups in WF you change the rotation to this

Year 1
Superman
Batman
Man of Steel
Worlds Finest

Year 2
Dark Knight
Action
Dynamic Duo
Worlds Finest

Everything else would work in the same way.

James' schedule looks good to me! I really like the idea of alternating LSH and JLA.
